An OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH SUDAN by Neetah Baby

Dear President, rescue your Girls from this barbaric act of humiliation meted on us every day by men as we go about our businesses just like any other law abiding citizen. We are not criminals to be stripped naked on the street simply because we're putting on dresses of our choices. We are daughters, mother's and wives in our respective homes. We've suffered in a dignified manner for long over chauvinistic men who see us as sex objects. What's trending currently in Bor has been the order of the day in all the peripheries of the republic. As per now we're yet to adopt our national dressing code. We should be appreciated for scantily covering up our bodies instead of walking naked like our sisters from the kraals who don't have access to clothes. Our fathers like you your Excellency went to the bush because you hate oppression and marginalization. It's high time you come out of your comfort zone and put an end to this heinous inhumane act women of all walks of life are subjected to in our nascent nation. On behalf of girls who are facing prosecution in the name of freedom to wear an attire of your choice, I'm standing tall with you in solidarity.

Yours faithfully, Neetah Baby #Breakthebais2022#
